Which device are you trying to initialize? You can check which card you have by investigating the output of the usbtree command. In the case it says it is supported, we can troubleshoot. Nevertheless, usage of nusb/ether looks something like this: nusb/ether -t ethertype devid where 'devid' can be drawn from the output of your usbtree as the N value in 'epN.M' (more info in usb(3)). 'ethertype' is one of those listed in the man page. Generally, this should be ran by nusbrc(8) when the device is attached.. To actually get this registered and running with your network (assuming nusb/ether succeeds in creating some /net/etherU* device for you), you need to run ip/ipconfig on the specified device: ip/ipconfig ether [your /net/etherU*] Hope this helps, Aidan --upas-mbqbcbomtdlusvtygeqxvdqfae Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Disposition: inline Received: from 9front.inri.net ([168.235.81.73]) by oneiri; Sun Mar 24 00:56:13 -0700 2024 Received: from mail-lf1-f45.google.com ([209.85.167.45]) by 9front; Sun Mar 24 03:54:22 -0400 2024 Received: by mail-lf1-f45.google.com with SMTP id 2adb3069b0e04-513d717269fso4199466e87.0 for <9front@9front.org>; Sun, 24 Mar 2024 00:54:19 -0700 (PDT) DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=gmail.com; s=20230601; t=1711266858; x=1711871658; darn=9front.org; h=content-disposition:mime-version:message-id:subject:to:from:date :from:to:cc:subject:date:message-id:reply-to; bh=nLFJet/A1DRftrPtG/OqVHGB3f7I+RXN/9lzzxHKrXM=; b=GfiPFjEjrjZOn+xUFpAz6Ab8q/K+c5spcLsGw/4SrQHMdDprLZRTv377xsGcdcQ01j BMYVEZd8lnmMXuWlGQfmOJnyojPM/1Yrdk4NaHsSrd63fva5VDCGYxyj1gWwX2jeT9LT 5yD0lAshLYVuYHyVjhGuov3gn+WhmL7ENSKntKW1j2yfhwkRHxf0L4q1FDGN9fB301L+ v4oQJAQkbSzxsQXdneJs0uXgjmjypTnbCsnK9TYU+8HQjbNppr/yGjW3fcgGZSrigil+ kruZyQj7gg3VzDQ7pNbBR9t1gZH665396iJ8kJc9Q1KbGE1XtGA9RlKu4rxag52UMyB+ 7INw== X-Google-DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=1e100.net; s=20230601; t=1711266858; x=1711871658; h=content-disposition:mime-version:message-id:subject:to:from:date :x-gm-message-state:from:to:cc:subject:date:message-id:reply-to; bh=nLFJet/A1DRftrPtG/OqVHGB3f7I+RXN/9lzzxHKrXM=; b=b8YVJq8zPYYRa/aMDOmV/XZhg1l4Zxxq8qFfrmuLWuiZLCwk/g6W5OExzZmcG2RsS0 KYW3TEQf76hGDzDYr4JyTRWnPTWss8Ww+z4IX1IT3AwkB3Vrjf7duftBQRE7yTw662VD U4wwmRfH93CU760GLqDHDpwJwxbd90DIefjUDRl4Oevzo/CuAiv5uHEE0D5uQuHB8237 Lt3MOH8wE3tXZMT2sGMsLAXzGUg6BcRW12Z1Lpy76tSJgVNke0oMCxyISA4SNBpnA+t/ AQkI2qxLj50P4wRvzjEUT76drNzNoGZpzYOX/gRQZElc08mTRG8esL4B0ScRdKN0Ikhc dOtA== X-Gm-Message-State: AOJu0YzeUGojgXyFB4eCHGVHCzMajpwAooIIct0dLHlOYR0kZvseSm/A 2RDONlQgKyG46V/a/9HGlrteyvCk37ohNctZgS84wMd3L6vBj2bE6ev5okoL X-Google-Smtp-Source: AGHT+IGUvuudaTOtTQcHRrW9KDtsie3sK3pcq15Eo0aisy6+tcph4ifpvr/t1PxP4AdfNnhzSlH5lw== X-Received: by 2002:ac2:4d95:0:b0:513:5bdb:10f7 with SMTP id g21-20020ac24d95000000b005135bdb10f7mr2464656lfe.14.1711266857686; Sun, 24 Mar 2024 00:54:17 -0700 (PDT) Return-Path: Received: from cx1906 (ptr-ej031ubus7f9qabfjc3.18120a2.ip6.access.telenet.be. I am not sure if it is because of an unsupported adapter of because I do not understand how to activate it. I did not get any wiser from the nusb man page unfortunately. Are there any "for dummies" usgage examples for nusb/ether? How do I know what "device" I should give as a command argument etc? Thanks, Jens --upas-mbqbcbomtdlusvtygeqxvdqfae--
