@Hoshpak dealt with the bug, opened a PR in upstream https://gitlab.winehq.org/wine/wine/-/merge_requests/5580 .

Regardless of any changes that might be requested, the patch currently works so let's merge for now! In the meantime I will work with the wine devs for a fix in upstream for the next release 9.9 :).
