Subject: [9fans] Ethernet card detection
Date: Wed, 26 May 2004 13:50:59 -0400 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <002701c4434a$03f8bb90$3700100a@Frank> (raw)
Hello,
I recently installed Plan 9 Release 4 successfully, but my ethernet card was
not auto-detected.
It is a Linksys EtherPCI Lan Card II with a Winbond 89C940 chip on it
(supposedly an ne2000 clone).
I tried adding...
ether0=type=ne2000
...to my plan9.ini, but still no /dev/ether0. Any ideas on what to try
next?
I guess I could have looked at the detailed device parameters under
Windows98, before I blew it away :)
An aside - I've been wanting to play with Plan 9 ever since I read the
whitepapers about a year ago. I must say, I'm having a blast playing with
it so far.
Thanks,
Frank
