The rest of the above list seem to me to be mostly bling, symptoms or check-list items. In a pinch, my Mac Mini makes a fine multimedia processor. I have no interest in most of the other items (spreadsheets!?), and actively dislike others (RDBMs). Somehow the lack of these things hasn't been a problem.
