thanks to vic thacker i have a PCMCIA card which
claims to be based of the the realtek 8139 but, as
per usual, these damn vaio's don't find 'em.

this is the card:

This is a Ricoh 475 PCI/CArdbus Bridge:

devpccard knows about it. Do you have a 'pccard0=something'
in plan9.ini?

that's what i'll do next.  i'm waiting for this fossil install.

i think i posted some VAIO pci patch a few months back.
i shall try and find it.
