i think it is. i'll have a look at the code, but i think i'm hosed,
unless i use another unorthodox solution:
i have a buncha files that were generated somewhere on lunix,
so i'll just snarf the output of the plan 9 awk regression tests
and use them as the tree to compare against, but i have the
odd other problem to look at first.
then i can run the tests against the bio-fied (hazard?) awk.
