no, 'the dots' is that someone has already done the hard
work [dc/awk] and you should build a tool with these
extremely well tested tools, rather than building yet
another one that leaves itself open to be choc-full-o-bugs.

pre-guess the scale?  if you don't like it the first time snarf
it up, change the scale and run it again.  eg.  get it to spit:

    dc input etc = result [programing the inputs].

before you make the calculation i think you'd have a pretty
good idea of how 'big' the result will be.  or, if you want to
write more code, write a thing to scale the output, based
on a huge input scale.

this is not large-n-bit RSA.
