All I got was a single 2mb text file containing the source files, and a bunch of garbage. Searching this file for README finds it way at the bottom. So something went wrong detarring/preserving directory hierarchy. This explains a lot. As to where 3) went, it seems I need a book on counting first! I think it was caused by my trying to use letters in a primarily number based scheme (1a). Ok, I'll give something with the 2e kernel a shot, can't hurt now. As to books, english is a germanic language after all! But I was asking more along the lines of general books that might give me some background I feel I'm obviously missing. Or maybe just more playtime is needed. thanks -dave
