Plan 9 people should get together with people with ideas like the New
I/O. This Nyström guy is fed up with trying to distribute
functionality with javaScript inside a browser and tries to come up
with a solution of his own, free of Web browser paradigm.

Sincerely,

Christoph

The mainframe will most likely be one or more racks of clustered PCs.

The trend of putting apps on a server somewhere on the net is already
a strong one. For example:

http://www.informationweek.com/news/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=197002264

The only question left is what the platform will be. The leading
candidates currently are Ajax and Java:

http://www.oreillynet.com/onjava/blog/2007/01/is_java_more_efficient_than_aj.html

What seems clear to me that neither is adequate, which encouraged me
to start the NewIO project. I think when there is an adequate platform
then the trend will become pervasive.

Sincerely,
Chris
