This is a really exciting development which will be a rich research resource and also, hopefully, a high profile showcase for Plan 9 and inferno. Eric's blog and the USENIX paper give a real flavour of the exercise: I also learned a new expression - "bring-up environment" - suggesting much more than a bootstrap, like coaxing the monster into life... The scale of the hardware is boggling. That Plan 9 can tame it and provide a coherent system model - with practical, scalable tools - is a real testament to the foresight of the Plan 9 developers. Leo
