Hi,

I did some investigation into Datakit - I am using a form of it for
Inter-board comms (link level only).

The best reference I found was Al Aho's paper - somthing like
"A retrospective of TDM protocols",  the reprint is at home I'am afraid.

I can get an exact reference next week if you want
