Hello ,
I installed my plan9 from the VitaNuova CD I bought last year. Consequently I'm not sure which updates to apply. Might it be a good idea to use this distribution as a kind of reference and have a single wrap to upgrade from the CD to CURRENT.
I presume that once patched I won't get :
# disk/kfscmd listen
kfscmd: command listen not recognised
Also in the wiki it says
"Once rio comes up, create some user accounts in the key database by using auth/changeuser"
But rio doesn't come up for me, in fact is says
rio: can't open display : initdisplay /dev/draw/new: no frame buffer
if I try and manually run it
At first I thought this was because I had not got my vga in my pccpudisk file but I now know that this is not the case. (in fact after fiddling with it to try and fix it I got in a mess and had to re-install to get the defaults back so I could see what they were!)
I do have the devices bound in in cpurc :
for (i in '#A' '#m' '#i' '#S' '#t')
bind -a $i /dev >/dev/null >[2]/dev/null
And finally, could someone point me to the code for getting POP3 mail from my isp and distributing it to my local users please.
Matt
oh btw. if this mail is a duplicate I'm sorry, I sent it from drawterm
and although it said delivered it hasn't appeared in the list so I've
sent it again from another box
