Hey all,
Since the OSL has been helping us out with hosting the p9f, I figure it’s best to notify you all that they will be having funding problems. If anyone on this list is able to contribute to the OSL I think it would help keep a piece of history up and running.
I hope you all are well,
Cody

While the College of Engineering (CoE) has generously filled this gap, recent changes in university funding have led to a significant reduction in CoE's budget. As a result, our current funding model is no longer sustainable and CoE needs to find ways to cut programs.

Much of their hosting has been moved to the cloud or the state data center, and they lack the funds to replace the aging UPS/HVAC systems. I am actively seeking a new location to host our systems, but finding suitable data center space on campus has proven to be extremely challenging.

Greetings,
I am running a hosting provider (https://IRCNow.org) and might have some
extra hosting resources available in case the OSL runs into problems.
If the P9F needs help with hosting, feel free to contact me at
jrmu@ircnow.org, I may be able to help donate hosting resources.

I’m happy to report that OSUOSL has secured funding for at least the next year.
https://osuosl.org/blog/osl-future-update/
They’re working on plans for longer-term funding so that this isn’t a recurring issue, but nothing new there. Regardless, OSUOSL remains an amazing resource that supports hundreds of open source projects in a variety of ways (some of which would be very hard to reproduce). If you were considering a donation or talking to potential corporate/project donors, I’d encourage you to keep it up. We’re grateful for their continued support.
