Other than that it works like a charm. I've made some tweaks to usb which eliminated one spurious "port resumed" message. You might try updating your kernel if you haven't done so recently. Dan Cross found a bug in the ftdi usbserial driver (not specific to 9pi) which is fixed by /n/sources/patch/usbserial-ftdi-writelen - could that be relevant for you?
