Topicbox-Message-UUID: 1b50dac0-eac8-11e9-9e20-41e7f4b1d025 Message-ID: <19950824110254.XJ_T21yVmvUcBg-Rk2tTwl5ufTf7iPWqOwhv6g740cc@z> the short answer to kiran's question is that he probably isn't running ndb/dns on the terminal. it needs to be started in /rc/bin/termrc. otherwise ndb/cs finds only those names listed in the /lib/ndb files and the system doesn't (can't) use the DNS for translation. also, `soa' should only be used in a dom= entry when the /lib/ndb files really are authoratitive for the associated domain (ie, no name or resource record exists in that domain that cannot be found in /lib/ndb). i looked up his domain in the DNS, but it seems his site has separate internal/external name servers. given the entries he showed previously, it looks as though the correct entry will be dom=sasi.ernet.in ns=202.21.147.10 or alternatively dom=sasi.ernet.in ns= dom= ip= together with the dom=/ns= entries for the root domain he previously showed, but excluding sasi.ernet.in from that list.
