its Lance chip must have packed it in sometime late yesterday.
i was using it early yesterday afternoon.
anyhow, it's back now.
traceroute relies on ICMP ping packets, and ftp's kernel hasn't
got that protocol configured.

I'm very sorry, I don't want to send my last mail to the list...

(I think the biggest drawback of graphical interfaces is that you make more
errors, because pressing a false button is very easy.)

I'm trying to connect to ftp.cs.york.ac.uk for two days now, but unfortunately
without success. Is your network conncetion ok? When I should try next?

i've updated our lp interface to BSD line printer daemons to work
with the new edition of Plan 9.  you can fetch the bundle from

 in
pub/plan9/bsdlp.bundle
