I've had touble editing c:\plan9\lib\vgadb with a DOS based editor (e.exe from
PC-DOS 6.1, to be exact). If I edit this file, then copy it into /lib when running
plan9, the system will hang the next time plan9 is booted, or the next time aux/vga
is called. I suppose this is due to the carriage returns inserted by the DOS editor.
Something to watch out for when configuring your vga setup, if this is indeed the
case.
