Topicbox-Message-UUID: 1f9f1470-eac8-11e9-9e20-41e7f4b1d025 Message-ID: <19950904220809.jV0yqKtvXV1CxWdkoK-lg30hAfQ5_7cujn75j5RKDNQ@z> Since some years I use a `Sigma Laserview' (19" B&W monitor, 1600x1200) with X11 and ISC Unix. I like that display very much, the Sigma is substantially more crisp than the Samsung 17GLs currently hooked to my Plan 9 box (though the Samsung really isn't bad). The Laserview has a proprietary display controller, for which I do not have any real documentation, but on my Linux CD I've spotted an X11 driver for it. - How difficult would you think is a port of the Linux X11 driver to Plan 9? I'm very experienced with C (nearly 15 years) but I never did any programming of display device drivers. - Where to start? - Recommendations for books? - Any other takers? --Martin
