Peter Weiner was the founder, in 1977, of the first commercial UNIX company, UNIX Systems and Services, Inc. Shortly after incorporation, and prior to signing the first commercial UNIX license, with binary sublicense rights, the company's name was changed to INTERACTIVE Systems Corporation, at the request of Western Electric lawyers. He also was the first holder of the California license plate UNIX. No compaints were ever received, and the license plate is currently held by Ted Dolotta, now President of Softbank America Inc.
