From mboxrd@z Thu Jan 1 00:00:00 1970 Date: Tue, 10 Oct 1995 22:43:15 -0400 From: Tod Olson tao@stone.lib.uchicago.edu Subject: Problems with #m interface in pcdist Topicbox-Message-UUID: 2caa775e-eac8-11e9-9e20-41e7f4b1d025 Message-ID: <19951011024315.h0Sv0e69smcGLggXNswKpHD_yynSgBl1jxnZQrPRaCg@z> Hardware: SoundBlaster 16 (address base 0x220, irq 5, 16bit dma 5) and Panasonic CD drive connected to the SB16 (CR-562, address base 0x230, ID 2). I'm unable to bind my CD. When I type bind -a '#m' /dev I get bind #m /dev: unknown device in # filename So the question is: where do I look for what's wrong? I assume that either I'm mistaken about the hardware parameters above or I'm not putting them in plan9.ini correctly. I doubt the former because Linux can mount a filesystem and play music from the CD using those parameters. As for the latter, this is my plan9.ini: mouseport=ps2 monitor=multisync75 vgasize=1024x768x8 audio0=type=sb16 port=0x220 irq=5 dma=5 cdrom0=type=panasonic port=0x230 Or is there something else I need to do before bind? Thanks for you help. -- Tod A. Olson "How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice. ta-olson@uchicago.edu "If you weren't mad, you wouldn't have The University of Chicago Library come here," said the Cat.
