on an AMD DX4/100, yes.  all the motherboards i've tried have worked;
four different types, most are no-name clones, one is a `Pine' motherboard.
the only odd thing is that the Pine m/board handles reset to get out
of protected mode differently, so (control-t)²r doesn't reset the machine.
it hardly matters.

i haven't got a dx4/120 to try.
