In my experience, if you make the grave mistake of even booting the
installation diskettes, it scribbles on your hard disk without so much
as a "By your leave" before doing so.  In the process, it wrecks
whatever it was that you were silly enough to have out there beyond the
DOS partition.

I consider this behavior unconscionable.
