Hello again!
I still have problems with my Hercules Dynamite and Plan9. I'm now sure,
that Plan9 recognized my card, that means, my vgadb entry is correct.
Aux/vga -pv produced the following output:

The enviroment variable monitor is set to "vga" and vgasize is correctly set
to "640x480x1". Unfortunately, my old standard VGA monitor still shows four
copies of the 81/2 screen. So I connected a modern monitor with a LCD to my
PC and this one told me, that it gets a signal with 64KHz horizontal frequency
and 22Hz vertical. So it seems to me, that the Hercules Dynamite isn't correctly
initialized by the driver. Any ideas?
My Hercules Dynamite Power:
Hercules product : Hercules Dynamite Power PCI
Model number : D902
Bus type : PCI
Windows accelerator chip : ET4000-W32p
Display memory size : 2048K DRAM
Video BIOS Version : 8.00N-D2h (05/31/95)
RAMDAC type(s) : ICS 5340/5341 (PowerPort)
Monitor : 31.5 KHz, b&w
And here is my vgadb entry:
ctlr
0xC0184="Hercules PCI Bus Dynamite(tm) BIOS. Ver. 8.00N-D2h(05/31/95)"
0xC0076="Tseng Laboratories, Inc. 07/25/94 V8.00N"
link=vga
ramdac=ics534x-135
ctlr=et4000-w32p
hwgc=et4000hwgc
As long as I don't have a better monitor I can work with Plan9 using the distributed
vgadb (what means, that my card isn't recognized), but it can be a big problem in the
future.
Thank you very much for any help!
Tschuess,
Henner
PS: I'm still waiting for the arrival of my CD-ROM, so I can't test any patches until
I get my copy.
