Subject: IBM-PC install on E: drive?
Date: Fri, 3 Nov 1995 19:46:15 -0500 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <19951104004615.EBmcxDc4Y2SU_L2IppQX1_TvI5lfBQApY5jfrwwOa3A@z> (raw)
I just downloaded the Plan-9 demo system to my IBM-PC, and I am ready to
give it a try. However, I'm not sure if I will even be able to
perform the install, because the documentation specifies the install
to go to the C: drive, and I would prefer to install it on my E:
drive.
I have a 1 gig hard disk which is split into 3 partitions, C:, D:, and
E:. Therefore, my E: drive is not on a separate disk. This partition
is already large enough to accomodate the Plan-9 software (it's around
200 meg), and what I would like to do is simply to make it a non-DOS
partition and do the install. Yes, I know: if I make this partition
non-DOS, then it will not be the "E:" drive any more.
Will this work? It seems like it will. Has anyone tried something
like this?
And while I'm here, I might as well ask if anyone has had any trouble
using DPT SCSI disk controllers with Plan-9. My particular model
is PM 2021.
Thanks in advance.
