Subject: Standalone NeXTstation Turbo install?
Date: Thu, 23 Nov 1995 12:18:14 -0500	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <19951123171814.u1IEZ_H_RIQycFshT0VAzL0IUBa03KkuPjVS2SMRyWY@z> (raw)

Hi folks,

[after much badgering of HB and the HB UK folks being singularly depressing
about saying it would take 8-10 weeks; HB Florida did FedEx it over - time
taken == 2.5 weeks (which if it's FedEx express and it shipped on the 9th,
I'd love to know where it went via..)].

I've been grazing through the mail archives and have found a couple of
items on NeXT installs --- has anyone managed to get it going on a
standalone NeXTstation _without_ hanging a PC off the back and using
boot ethernet?
Or is this possible? (It seems like it should be from the sparc standalone
comments?)...

Suggestions welcome,
thanks,

al
(definitely some of the most amusing BUGS sections in the man pages..)
(YetAnotherFAQ: Anyone looking at doing a 2al or was there a Good Reason
 not to originally?)
