Topicbox-Message-UUID: 44a433cc-eac8-11e9-9e20-41e7f4b1d025 Message-ID: <19960502160519.iRKTAdgmdMOD5hRI3Ko13ucOXlkbhMIM1Gm2W8CPf1U@z> I've successfully installed Plan 9 on a 486 ISA motherboard with AHA 1542 CF SCSI controller. At some point in the future I want to acquire a new system with a 586 PCI motherboard. My hardware supplier lists the following PCI-SCSI controllers: - Adaptec 2940 (also "W" and "UW") - Adaptec 2920 / TMC 3260 - Buslogic FLASHPOINT LT - Buslogic(?) KT 930 SGT - Buslogic(?) KT 950 SGTX As I understand, the Adaptec 2940 is not (yet?) supported. The FAQ mentions that "Buslogic Controllers are the most trouble-free", does this include the FLASHPOINT LT? As it costs only half as much as the Adaptec I fear it is a stripped down design (LT == light?) that leaves much to the driver software and the general statement that Plan 9 "works with ALL Buslogic Controllers" might not be applicable. Any recommendations? I'm not limited to the above list, so feel free to add your proposal!
