Subject: Bug in bind?
Date: Wed, 31 Jul 1996 20:21:45 +0000 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <19960731202145.ICMMVbfE29eKwKfoHQyrPRh5p_CVLbO-BHBO-wzAo5I@z> (raw)
Try the following:
term% cd /usr/someone/tmp
term% mkdir a b b/c
term% cd b/c
term% bind -a /usr/someone/tmp/b/c /usr/someone/tmp/a
term% pwd
pwd: failed to return to .
Huh??
term% cd ..
term% pwd
/usr/someone/tmp
term%
More Huh??
This only happens with "bind -a", not "bind -b". Where the last "cd .."
ends up depends on where it's bound; that is, it behaves as if it starts
at "tmp/a".
Is this a bug or a feature?
