Subject: [9fans] kernel bug fix
Date: Sun, 15 Dec 2002 21:42:42 -0500 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <1b0fb97057c56332d12cc4750612458f@plan9.bell-labs.com> (raw)
The kernels I installed on Friday morning
have a small bug -- the boot program
ignores the arguments it gets from the kernel.
As a result, your boot prompt may show up as
root is from (il, local)[il]:
rather than
root is from (il, local)[local!#S/sdC0/fs]:
so that typing enter gives you a kernel panic
when il fails.
Only the default answer is affected -- you can
still type local!#S/sdC0/fs (or just l) to boot
the new kernel from kfs.
I just pushed out new kernels that fix this
problem.
