curiously, I don't see this.   ape.html can be read fine by Links.=E2=98=BA
I also checked of /sys/doc/ape.html of our local version,

--rw-rw-r-- M 9 sys sys  14176 Apr 28  2002 ape.html

and all the files looks fine to me.
