If you can get one at a fire sale, it works fine. Ours have crufty 1024x768 screens but Russ had one with a 1400xsomething screen which seemed a lot nicer. We don't know how to run the soft modem though, I bought a pcmcia one for $30 at compusa. --upas-bzypdbjsripgzpzmxwjxkayfcg Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Disposition: inline Received: from plan9.cs.bell-labs.com ([135.104.9.2]) by plan9; Mon Oct 20 21:31:36 EDT 2003 Received: from mail.cse.psu.edu ([130.203.4.6]) by plan9; Mon Oct 20 21:31:33 EDT 2003 Received: by mail.cse.psu.edu (CSE Mail Server, from userid 60001) id 2836819AA6; Mon, 20 Oct 2003 21:31:32 -0400 (EDT) Received: from psuvax1.cse.psu.edu (psuvax1.cse.psu.edu [130.203.20.6]) by mail.cse.psu.edu (CSE Mail Server) with ESMTP id 71FA219A92; Mon, 20 Oct 2003 21:31:14 -0400 (EDT) X-Original-To: 9fans@cse.psu.edu Delivered-To: 9fans@cse.psu.edu Received: by mail.cse.psu.edu (CSE Mail Server, from userid 60001) id 8AD2019A93; Mon, 20 Oct 2003 21:30:54 -0400 (EDT) Received: from plan9-2.ucalgary.ca (fbsd.cpsc.ucalgary.ca [136.159.7.68]) by mail.cse.psu.edu (CSE Mail Server) with ESMTP id A930519A8F for <9fans@cse.psu.edu>; Mon, 20 Oct 2003 21:30:42 -0400 (EDT) Message-ID: To: 9fans@cse.psu.edu Subject: Re: [9fans] laptop From: mirtchov@cpsc.ucalgary.ca In-Reply-To: <200310210103.h9L13SnM002551@math.Princeton.EDU> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Sender: 9fans-admin@cse.psu.edu Errors-To: 9fans-admin@cse.psu.edu X-BeenThere: 9fans@cse.psu.edu X-Mailman-Version: 2.0.11 Precedence: bulk Reply-To: 9fans@cse.psu.edu List-Id: Fans of the OS Plan 9 from Bell Labs <9fans.cse.psu.edu> List-Archive: Date: Mon, 20 Oct 2003 19:30:41 -0600 X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-0.2 required=5.0 tests=IN_REP_TO,NO_REAL_NAME,QUOTED_EMAIL_TEXT version=2.55 X-Spam-Level: X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.55 (1.174.2.19-2003-05-19-exp) > > Thanks for the information. Both Ron and I have run a T21 with the same S3 chipset. I had it dual booting FreeBSD and Plan 9. http://pages.cpsc.ucalgary.ca/~mirtchov/lanlp9/newnetwork/term.html Unfortunately you won't see any info on how to get the T23 running on the page above, but it should be similar to the T21. The RADEON driver is something I can't comment on, since I don't have my laptop working with it. If Philippe Anel has the time and patience it would be helpful to have yet another radeon laptop to test his driver on. andrey --upas-bzypdbjsripgzpzmxwjxkayfcg--
