Alef provided a lot of really slick facilities. Maybe it is possible to release the Alef port to Irix under Open Source? I have a feeling that releasing Alef in this manner may well have a deep effect on open source developments (it would no doubt be bastardised into Alef++ and so on, but I really haven't found anything that addresses concurrent programming as elegantly as Alef/Limbo do). And, while I'm on the subject, where did Acme go? It had a lot of potential, most of it still waiting to be discovered. ++L
