This is a bizarre use of `predatory.'

Pricing goods below cost to drive out competition is predatory.

Causing your OS to derate the performance of
competitor's application software is predatory.

Acquiring your competitors in order to
shut them down is sometimes predatory.

But refusing to be a competitor's unpaid R&D
department is manifestly not predatory.
