Any ideas will they be available? We haven't felt the need for shared libraries in Plan 9. second but related question: are there advanced ELF-like features like weak symbol, .init/.fini sections etc? The object file format is pretty straightforward. It doesn't even have type symbols; those are written to a separate file in the form of an acid(1) program. See a.out(6) for details of the object file format; 2c(1) and acid(1) for the symbols. -rob
