I've been up against the same thing for a while
with the ESS chip in my NEC laptop. Sound cards
are oodles more complicated than VGAs these days.
Since your card is a Sound Blaster too, you might be
able to get the documents you need out of
Creative's web page (www.creaf.com). They
were always good about giving out SB16 documentation.
