A long time ago we bought a pile of Lexmark 84-key keyboards. There's an optional numeric keypad. They are small and pretty reliable (a couple have gone bad out of about 40 in more than 5 years). The Lexmark keyboard business was bought by Unicomp and the keyboards are still available but, as you say, not cheap - $99. http://www.pckeyboard.com/surfer.htm
