For what it is worth, Russ and I have been working on something to do dumpfs-like dumps to an ISO 9660 image. Supports both Plan 9 and POSIX system-use extensions (and of course Joliet, if you want it). Still needs to banged on a bit, but it might do the trick for backups, even though it isn't the "real thing". -WJ
