without looking at the script you are running, 
"rc: null list in concatenation" means that you 
are glomming something onto a null list (probablly
and undefined variable). for example

; echo ()^x
rc: null list in concatenation
; echo $bar^x
rc: null list in concatenation
; echo x$bar	# free caret
rc: null list in concatenation

interestingly, byron's rc allows null-list concatination

; echo ()^fu
fu
