You're exercising one of the few blemishes in Plan 9, its error message conciseness :-) I can think of a few possibilities: do all of these physically exist? /n/linux /dev/sdC0/linux Is the "ext2" server (never tried that - forsyth, have you considered stretching it to do FFS for the *BSDs?) running (does /srv/ext2 exist?)? The error message is understandably unusual (ext2srv is not part of the distribution) but definitely not very helpful, is it? You may want to dig into the sources and improve on it. That is one way to solve the problem :-) ++L
