I run my cpu/auth server off of my file server, booting both off of a floppy. In those devices where I can, I use 9fat partitions on IDE devices (sometimes disc, sometimes a flash device) instead of floppies, but those devices are relatively few. That's somewhat unfortunate, since floppies boot so slowly and have a tendency to die over time (I suppose all things do, but floppies have a particularly short lifespan). If I had my banks, I'd make the file server and CPU server boot off of flash devices and everything else boot over the network. Unfortunately, I am poor. :-) - Dan C.
