I'm off to look for elephants with red toenails in cherry trees. --upas-tnwwgttywtsewsehmmwnxvwycv Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Disposition: inline Received: from mail.cse.psu.edu ([130.203.4.6]) by cpu; Fri Oct 5 02:44:00 BST 2001 Received: from psuvax1.cse.psu.edu (psuvax1.cse.psu.edu [130.203.20.6]) by mail.cse.psu.edu (CSE Mail Server) with ESMTP id A635A199F7; Thu, 4 Oct 2001 21:41:06 -0400 (EDT) Delivered-To: 9fans@cse.psu.edu Received: from proxy2.ba.best.com (proxy2.ba.best.com [206.184.139.14]) by mail.cse.psu.edu (CSE Mail Server) with ESMTP id 4941F199F5 for <9fans@cse.psu.edu>; Thu, 4 Oct 2001 21:40:35 -0400 (EDT) Received: from localhost (mail@sdn-ar-002casfraP281.dialsprint.net [168.191.203.83]) by proxy2.ba.best.com (8.9.3/8.9.2/best.out) with ESMTP id SAA22885 for <9fans@cse.psu.edu>; Thu, 4 Oct 2001 18:40:02 -0700 (PDT) Received: from hs by localhost with local (Exim 3.32 #1 (Debian)) id 15pJvL-0002PD-00 for <9fans@cse.psu.edu>; Thu, 04 Oct 2001 18:37:11 -0700 From: Richard Subject: Re: [9fans] capability-based design (Re: permissions idea) To: 9fans@cse.psu.edu Message-Id: Sender: 9fans-admin@cse.psu.edu Errors-To: 9fans-admin@cse.psu.edu X-BeenThere: 9fans@cse.psu.edu X-Mailman-Version: 2.0.6 Precedence: bulk Reply-To: 9fans@cse.psu.edu List-Id: Fans of the OS Plan 9 from Bell Labs <9fans.cse.psu.edu> List-Archive: Date: Thu, 04 Oct 2001 16:57:15 -0700 forsyth@caldo.demon.co.uk writes: >in what way(s) do "capa" and eros improve on >(say) CAP or ten15? let me append to my response. past capa systems suffered from poor performance, I understand.
