There's merit in evolution, which adjusts to changing conditions, whereas design needs to be predictive. The market place is irrational (my opinion is that it is conditioned by the media in self-interest, but that's a conspiracy theory) so design is doomed to failure. The spin-offs, however will cause mutations in adaptive (and receptive) organisms. ++L
