I also use a HH keyboard (the original one) in the Mode2 as
documented in
http://www.pfuca.com/products/hhkb/hhkb_dip.html ,
so that the "Delete" key acts as a backspace key, and
"Fn + ` (backquote)" acts as a DEL key. Yes, the DEL is
a little harder to get at, but that is OK by me; it makes me
cautious of interrupting a process.
When I was using Plan9 (2nd ed.) on Suns I surprised myself
a lot, because their type-3/4 keyboards had the Delete key
dangerously close to the Return key and invited me to hit the
wrong one.
