that's what i did: after all, how likely is it that i'll go back?
the old source is still in the dump, and if i ever need to run
something under 3rd edition, perhaps as a regression test,
i decided i could probably set something up to take / from
the right directory in /n/dump/2002/... and paste a few
writable directories onto that.
that way as well i can see back through all editions using history.
