I'm a person of habit, getting the knack of pressing ^U at the end of
each line would take some getting used to.  I can imagine the damage
of pressing Enter instead :-(

Plus you have to remember the rest of the IRC culture, like fake logs
and other entertainment for l33t k1dz :-)  ^U would certainly cause
some psychological distress.
