I spoke too soon, it makes Remote->Remote work considerably better, but it slows down Local->Local by around 50% (making it slower than either cpdir or dircp) and slows Local->Remote by around 10% (which is still a lot faster than cpdir). It would be nice if there was some magic buffer size that was optimal for everything, but I suppose that's just fantasy. Micah
