Only if there is no distinct difference between need and `hopes
and desires'

v9 does run v8 code, but v8 is 32-bit where v9 is 64.

My understanding is that plan 9 doesn't run on newer suns because
the needed drivers aren't there for newer devices, including the
sparc v9 mmu.  But a 64-bit implementation would be nice.
Am I wrong in thinking plan 9 would run well on 64-bit sparc v9, or
have I missed something?
