That was all fine back in The > Good Old Days, but it really sucks now. I mentioned all of this to a well-known Internet apologist once, and was laughed down. The response was, ``you're an idiot if you think good technology will solve this problem.'' I see a problem with perception: people perceive SMTP and other protocols as being good, so they look past their failings. To really make a change, you have to demonstrate on a large scale why doing it the right way (I mean, come on; not authenticating mail connections is just stupid) is better. - Dan C.
