auth/iam uses /dev/key but on my auth server (heaven forbid!) there is
no such device.  I also can't seem to find it in /sys/man/3/* so I
guess I have to ask: where is it?

Shouldn't be one anywhere any more.  auth/iam is a thing of the past.  I'll nuke it.
