While I agree that flickering version numbers of some other systems are just indications of shaky designs, 'stable' differs from 'stalled' by just two letters. I've read a lot about Plan9, I've played with it and used it to port a couple of programs (not of general interest); but I am now trying to understand is it live, or just elegant? David Tolpin
