Hi.
I have tried with the vmware.zip disk image from plan9 page. I have
also install a plan9 from scratch from a 3 ed. CD and a 4 ed. CD.
It always hangs at:
MBR...PBS...[foo]
ELCR: 0E00
apm ax=[foo]
dev A0 port[foo]
dev A0 port[foo]
<--- hangs
Also tried the CDROM legacy trick...
note i am in Windows XP.
TIA.

try removing the cd drive entirely, or
at least disconnecting it on startup.

I removed it from the vmware settings, but it did not solve the
problem.
Tomorrow i will try to disable the CDROM on the vmware BIOS, but
any other ideas will be appreciated.

9load stalls somewhere collecting partitions. Booting
from CD goes just fine, the problem surfaces only when
booting from HD and there is also a CD drive.

Yes, that is exactly my problem.
The kernel from the CD can be used to boot, just:
[1. Boot Plan9 from this CD] option on the CD's plan9.ini
but it can't not mount the root filesystem from the HD, only the
read-only fs from the CD, so i can not get a "fully" working system.
